After weeks of building excitement with guerrilla-style billboard marketing across the country, Chappell Roan has officially announced the release of her highly anticipated single, "The Giver," set to drop on March 13 at 8 p.m. ET.
The singer shared the news on social media, revealing that she co-wrote the song with producer and frequent collaborator Dan Nigro. "We've never made a country song before, and country music has such a special place in my heart," she shared. "I grew up listening to it every morning and afternoon on my school bus, and it surrounded me at bonfires, grocery stores, and karaoke bars. A lot of people have asked if this means I'm making a country album. My answer is... hmm, right now, I’m just creating songs that make me feel happy and fun. ‘The Giver’ is my own take on country music. Xoxo, may the classic country divas rule the genre. I’m just here to twirl and do a little gay yodel for y’all."
Chappell Roan first introduced "The Giver" during her appearance on Saturday Night Live in November 2024, giving fans a sneak peek of the country-tinged track and hinting at its imminent release. Since then, she has continued to tease the song, placing billboards across the country with a hotline number that played snippets of the track.
