Robert “Polako” Zelazek is set to release a new album this April through a major record label. The legendary bassist unveils his latest project after the intense recording and release of Bandits & Covers, a double album of covers he recorded as a solo artist.
To stay active, fueled by passion and the energy of rock, "Polako" formed a new band, and they’re ready to unleash BASTA!!, a fresh studio album. The powerful quartet features Leo Nievas on vocals (former Rara Avis and Animal), Guille Wallace on drums and backing vocals (Instinto d.C.), Lea Vai on guitar (former Petróleo and Sangre), and Robert “Polako” Zelazek on bass and backing vocals. The band’s name, ZELAZEK, was chosen through a group vote.
Last year, they released Descontrolado, a track featuring Sebastián Coria from Horcas and Leonel Suite from Turbocoopers as special guests. It quickly became the first single and music video, giving fans a taste of what was to come. Later, they dropped Un día más, a reworked version of a song from Polako’s time with ROTTEN, which also marked the debut of guitarist Lea Vai. This emotive track showcases Leo Nievas' expressive and powerful vocals and the punchy drumming of Guille Wallace.
Now, it’s time for the full release of BASTA!!, the debut album from ZELAZEK, which includes 10 tracks:

The majority of the songs were written by Robert Zelazek, Guillermo Lazo, Leo Nievas, and Leandro Grela. However, Heridas del escarnio is solely written by Zelazek, Descontrolado was co-written by Zelazek, Nievas, Lazo, and Leonel Turconi, Un día más was written by Zelazek and David Balbina, and Comienza la función was written by Zelazek, Nievas, José Manuel Paz, and Ricardo Alonso.
The album was recorded and mixed at Animal Multimedia Studio and In Room Studio in Mercedes, Buenos Aires, and Zona Cyborg in CABA. It was mastered at La Nave de Oseberg in Capital Federal.
The album artwork was created by Guillermo Lazo, with photos by Mati Xeven. Executive production was handled by Robert Zelazek and Leo Nievas, artistic direction was a collaborative effort by the entire band, and general production was led by “Polako.”
Special guest artists include Sebastián Coria on guitar and Leonel Suite on guitars and backing vocals on Descontrolado, Anel Paz on guitar, and Ricky “Griego” Alonso on drums and backing vocals on Comienza la función, and Rubén Martínez providing backing vocals on Reflexiones violentas.
