Argentine musician MARTIN YUME has released his highly anticipated debut solo EP, titled SUSHI MOON. After years of exploring various musical projects, Yume embarks on his solo career with this new work, which promises to explore unique sounds and diverse styles.
The EP consists of four tracks, with the first single, "Ay amor", being a smooth bossa nova with oriental influences that evokes calm and fluidity. This track will be released on Friday, March 14. Ay amor was inspired by the nature and landscapes of the mountains in Bariloche and was recorded in two studios: De los árboles in Parque Leloir and Spector Studios in Buenos Aires. The production was handled by El Chávez (Matías Méndez), who also produced the other three tracks on the EP.
Born in the southern part of the Greater Buenos Aires area, Martín Yume now lives in Chascomús. His name, Yume, meaning "dream" in Japanese, evokes images of fantasy, relaxation, and dreamlike exploration. With an elegant, eclectic, and poetic aesthetic, his music spans from classic songwriting with poetic lyrics to futuristic pop and cyberpunk.
"Ay amor" features Yume's vocals and acoustic guitar, with Martín Méndez on guitar and Mauro Conforti on keyboards. The production and additional arrangements were done by El Chávez, who also contributed to the drums, percussion, and programming.
The remaining three tracks on the EP are:
- "Agua salada", featuring Rodrigo Mendiondo on Spanish guitar and An Estrany on vocals.
- "Sushi moon", featuring Lucas Vedel on guitar, backing vocals, percussion, and keyboards.
- A special version of "Balada do louco", a classic by Ney Matogrosso, with the same musicians as "Ay amor and vocals by An Estrany.
All songs were recorded using original keyboards such as the Hammond, Rhodes, Celesta, and even Fito Páez's piano.
With this release, MARTIN YUME demonstrates his ability to blend diverse genres and musical styles, offering a fresh, creative, and rich sound experience.
